Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

Today is Dr. Seuss’s Birthday.
You’re off to play!
No wait—let some books take you away!

You have books on your shelf.
You have words in yourself.
So read away little elf!

You’ll look up and down shelves. Look ’em over with care.
About some you’ll say, “I don’t choose to read there.”

With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you’re too smart to go down any not-so-good beat.

And you may not find any
you’ll want to read.
In that case, of course,
you’ll go to Little Scholar’s book source for a lead.

Our book list is full to the brim
with our favorite Seuss books,
and you won’t need go out on a limb!

There’s “Green Eggs and Ham,”
where there’s a man named Sam.

“Mr. Brown, Can Moo Can You,”
will have you holler whoo-hoo!

My favorite is “Yertle The Turtle,”
who learns life has hurdles.

Find a good nook,
and read “The Eye Book.”

Dr. Seuss had a vision
and wrote with precision.
Perhaps, his style is one we will never see again.
