I have worked as a professional educator for several years now – and that includes working in the classrooms as well as a private tutor! There are many things that I love about teaching and working with kids – and I really enjoy watching each child blossom into their very own inside the classroom! I am looking forward to each and every class, and I am looking forward to meeting each and every student!
I am passionate about teaching and creating meaningful learning experiences for kids. I moved to Virginia in 2018 and started teaching after-school classes for Little Scholars. In November I also started working for Henrico County Public Schools as an Intervention Teacher. I taught for over six years in California, both in elementary and middle school classrooms. My mother was a teacher and inspired me to continue her work in making learning come to life. I love getting sucked into a good book, watching movies with my husband, and playing with my two young sons. I also love being in nature and sharing homemade baked goods with loved ones. Every opportunity to teach is a gift, and I am very thankful to be a part of your child’s experience with Little Scholars!
I am so excited to be teaching your little one! This is my second year teaching kindergarten in Raleigh, North Carolina. My most favorite part of teaching is building relationships with the students, making them feel valued and heard, and witnessing that big “lightbulb moment!” In my free time, I love to spend time with my loved ones, read, and go on runs. I can’t wait to work with your child!
I have been with LIttle Scholars for about 9 years. I have spent over 20 years in the world of early childhood education and now provide training for educators in the field. I also am a full time sub for Hanover County schools, so I get plenty of time in the elementary grades as well. On the personal side, I am married and I have a daughter, who keeps me in stitches with her quick wit. We also have two dogs and a California Kingsnake.
This is my 4th year teaching at Little Scholars and I am also an Extended Daycare/tutor lead teacher at Millwood School. My favorite thing about teaching is to see students learn, seeing their ‘eyes light up’ when they understand the concept. I love to inspire, support and mentor students. When I’m not teaching I love to read and and run!
