Drawing and Painting

Learn the basics of drawing and painting by exploring lines and shapes, using color to express emotion, and CREATING both realistic and imaginative compositions. Game Club

TUESDAY, Grades 2-5                                                             Cost: $133

Calling all gamers!  In Game Club, you will have access to a library of board and card games to engage in friendly battles of strategy, wit and daring.  The games feature epic monster battles, kingdom building, railroad plotting, card-stealing, dice-rolling, desert islands, bugs, explosions, epidemics and more.  Each week you’ll be introduced to a new game, but you decide what to play.  Learn new games or revisit old favorites.  Games will include: King of Tokyo, King of New York, Qwirkle, Carcassonne, Chess, Hive, Sequence, Love Letter, Scrabble, Catan, Dragonwood, Machi Koro,Ticket to Ride, Codenames, Boss Monster, Loot, Iota, Exploding Kittens, Super Fight, Stratego, Sorry, Monopoly, Monopoly Deal, Battleship, Ascension, Dominion, Uno, Risk, Pandemic, Forbidden Island, Forbidden Desert, Munchkin, and more . . .  Taught by Woodlin parent Rafi Guthartz.  Programming Using Minecraft

TUESDAY, Grades 1-3                                                             Cost: $149

Using a custom mod called “Computercraft”, students will learn how to program robots called “Turtles” inside the world of Minecraft. Kids will utilize problem-solving skills by learning how to program their robots to complete various tasks and objectives such as programming their turtles to automatically build, mine, and craft items and structures. They will be introduced to programming if-then-else statements, for-while loops, and implement their own functions using Lua, a simple scripting language. Looking for a fun way to introduce your child to programming? Why not do it using a game they love! Note: Basic reading skills required. Experience playing Minecraft preferred, but not required. Science Exploratorium, Part 2

Sports Spectacular

Yoga

Our Yoga Club develops focus, flexibility, strength, and coordination through a variety of yoga poses, stories and games. We move, we play, we sometimes dance and we always have fun.  These classes enhance energy while also teaching children to feel calm and centered. Learn basic yoga movements in a fun, relaxed setting, doing your personal best in a non-competitive environment.  Mats are provided each week, no need for your student to bring their own.  Snacks are provided each week. Olympic Madness

Photography

THURSDAY, Grades 4-5                                                          Cost: $136

Do you enjoy taking pictures?  Do you want to become a better photographer? Would you like to know more about how cameras work? In this club, students learn how a basic point and shoot camera works, how to deal with common problems, how to work with available light, basic and advanced composition techniques, and lots of hands-on practice. No experience necessary.  Those who have taken Photography before are encouraged to come back if they would like more practice and feedback about their work. Stories Onstage!

Tastes Around the World

Explore the tastes of the world by visiting Italy to make tiramisu, sailing to Mexico to create salsa, and cruising to France to fill crepes.  Pack your bags because this is an adventure that you do not want to miss! Our taste masters will mix and craft the week away with a very special cookbook as a part of their travel souvenirs. Food will be prepared and served.
