**TUESDAY CLUBS**

Drawing and Painting with CREATE

TUESDAY, Grades K-2                                                     Cost: $132

Learn the basics of drawing and painting by exploring lines and shapes, using color to express emotion, and CREATING both realistic and imaginative compositions. Draw and paint using pastels, acrylic paint, colored pencils, watercolor and more!  Smocks are provided for messier projects but do remember to dress for art making! All new lessons will be taught by CREATE Arts Center making this class great for new and returning students.

Green Thumb Club

TUESDAY, Grades K-5                                                     Cost: $128

Catch an insect, grow a terrarium, and save the earth…all while learning about nature and the world around us through exciting expeditions, science, and environmental exploration. Our Green Thumb Club will ignite your child’s passion for nature, recycling, and learning about the earth through educational activities and science investigations. It’s time to join the Green Thumb Club! Offered by Little Scholars.

Photography

TUESDAY, Grades 4-5                                                                     Cost: $136

Do you enjoy taking pictures?  Do you want to become a better photographer? Would you like to know more about how cameras work? In this club, students learn how a basic point and shoot camera works, how to deal with common problems, how to work with available light, basic and advanced composition techniques, and lots of hands-on practice. No experience necessary.  Those who have taken Photography before are encouraged to come back if they would like more practice and feedback about their work. Taught by Woodlin parent and professional photographer Nancy Cox of Marigold Photography. Students must supply their own camera.

Rockets, Planes, and Flying Things

TUESDAY, Grades K-2                                                     Cost: $128

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 blast off to a galaxy far, far away to learn about Earth and the amazing solar system.  Discover all things galactic such as comets, planets, shooting stars, rockets and more. Learn about flight, the adventures of space travel, and participate in a rocket launch! Taught by Little Scholars.

Spring Into Fitness!

TUESDAY, Grades K-5                                                     Cost: $115

This multi-sports program teaches the basics of multiple, different sports, including basketball, soccer, flag-football, capture the flag and other sports. The program is designed to enhance your child’s athletic diversity while teaching important lessons is teamwork, positive attitude & respect. Students will go outside for this class as weather permits.  Students should wear comfortable clothes that allow movement. Taught by Kaizen.

Visual Programming Using Scratch

TUESDAY, Grades 1-3                                                     Cost: $148

Software used: Scratch 2.0 Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate . Introduce your child to the wonderful world of programming! In this class students will learn basic programming concepts using a simple drag-and-drop interface within the software Scratch, a project developed by the MIT Media Lab. Students will use their imaginations and implement creative thinking, while at the same time learning how to create and program simple games. Use pre made art assets or create your own, and learn how to program them, to walk, talk, and interact with objects. Teach students logic and visual programming in order to create simple, 2D Video Game in Scratch 2. Offered by C3.

Yoga

TUESDAY, Grades K-5                                                                     Cost: $115

Our Yoga Club develops focus, flexibility, strength, and coordination through a variety of yoga poses, stories and games. We move, we play, we sometimes dance and we always have fun.  These classes enhance energy while also teaching children to feel calm and centered. Learn basic yoga movements in a fun, relaxed setting, doing your personal best in a non-competitive environment.  Mats are provided each week, no need for your student to bring their own.  Snacks are provided each week. Students should wear comfortable clothes that allow movement. Led by former Woodlin parent and RYT 200 certified yoga instructor, Krista Mason.

Destination Imagination

THURSDAY, Grades K-2                                                 Cost: $112

Round House Theatre brings their multidisciplinary approach to theatre to Woodlin!  Each week students encounter a new and exciting location—from Outer Space to Antarctica—using their imaginations! The residency exposes students to a variety of cultures and experiences, while introducing the fundamentals of theatre through movement, music, design/ visual arts, and drama. Offered by Round House Theatre.

Game Design and Production

THURSDAY, Grades 3-5                                                  Cost: $148

Aspiring game designers will love this class as they have the chance to learn how to utilize the industry-standard game design software Unreal® Editor, among other software, used to create games as Batman: Arkham Asylum® and Mass Effect 3®. Students will learn how to create exterior environments, and apply different procedures of modeling and texturing. Students create their own outdoor terrain using advanced tools such as terrain sculpting, particle creation, and dynamic lighting. Learn how to import pre-set 3D models, control dynamic lighting, add interactive vehicles and power ups. Learn how to use the same tools video game developers are using today! Offered by C3.

Jump It Up!

THURSDAY, K-5                                                                                 Cost: $148

Jump It Up is a whole-body movement-based club that is fun and safe exercise. The goal is to increase health, wellness, and fitness with balance, strength, and coordination for all students. Gross motor skills will be reinforced with mini-trampolines and other equipment. Students will learn fun, easy movement routines in sequences timed to music – balance and agility will be a focus. Use of arms, legs, and various muscle groups will increase students’ strength, endurance, body awareness and overall fitness.  Students should wear comfortable clothes. Taught by Woodlin physical therapy staff member Hope Sadler.

Karate (ALL Belts)

THURSDAY, Grades K-5                                                 Cost: $133

This Karate program offers safe, structured training that teaches students the proper form, style and technique. Classes are tailored to student’s individual needs and help them to grow to their fullest potential. Karate not only focuses on instruction, but also provides valuable lessons related to respect, discipline, motivation, self-control, confidence, and continual improvement. Instruction provided by Kaizen Karate.

More Tastes Around the World!

THURSDAY, Grades K-5                                                 Cost: $128

Explore the tastes of the world with all new lessons.  Pack your bags because this is an adventure that you do not want to miss! Visit the Caribbean, France, Tahiti and other destinations as you mix and craft the week away with a very special cookbook as a part of your travel souvenirs. Food will be prepared and served. Offered by Little Scholars and will be fun for new and returning students.

Scientists in Training

THURSDAY, Grades K-2                                                                 Cost: $128

Take a dash of engineering and a sprinkle of earth science, toss it together with some fun and games, and you have an all new STEAM-based class. Scientists will explore the different worlds of science through weekly take home creations such as pizza gardens and rockets. Join us for this exciting journey into the world of science! Taught by Little Scholars.
