Chess Wizards

TUESDAY, Grades 1-5                                                     Cost: $150

Enter into the magical and exciting world of chess with Chess Wizards! You will participate in epic chess games, fun and interactive lessons, tournaments, team matches, trivia and more! Our specialized classes are a blast for everyone!  Whether you have been playing chess for your entire life and want to improve, are brand new to the game, or you just want to have a fun experience with your friends – Chess Wizards is the place for you! Offered by Chess Wizards.

Mixed Media Art with CREATE

TUESDAY, Grades K-2                                                     Cost: $155

Mixed media art is all about combinations!  In this class you’ll explore a variety of ways to mix things up by combining different media, materials and techniques.  You may work with paint, fabric, paper, cardboard, colored pencil and more to CREATE projects like puppets, fantasy scenes and artist inspired self-portraits. French – Beginner

TUESDAY, Grades 2-5                                                                   Cost: $178

Spring Session French is designed for both new and continuing beginners. Children will build practical language skills, practice speaking with friends and explore a new language and culture in a fun, immersion setting. We’ll play games and act out dialogues with new topics and themes including favorite sports and activities, alphabet, telling time, the farm, breakfast time and more!  Workbooks and small group activities support early reading and writing skills.  No prerequisite; classes feature new themes so that brand new and returning students can participate. Families must register and pay for GOTR or LMR through the respective website (see below).  A separate registration and management fee to cover management costs and onsite coordinator fees is required using the Little Scholars website below. The onsite coordinator ensures clubs are operating properly, communicates with parents if needed, and manages the dismissal of students.

Green Thumb Club

TUESDAY, Grades K-2                                                     Cost:$133

Catch an insect, grow a terrarium, and save the earth…all while learning about nature and the world around us through exciting expeditions, science, and environmental exploration. Our Green Thumb Club will ignite your child’s passion for nature, recycling, and learning about the earth through educational activities and science investigations. Jump It Up!

TUESDAY, Grades K-5                                                     Cost: $150

Jump It Up is a whole-body movement-based club that is fun and safe exercise. The goal is to increase health, wellness, and fitness with balance, strength, and coordination for all students. Gross motor skills will be reinforced with mini-trampolines and other equipment. Students will learn fun, easy movement routines in sequences timed to music – balance and agility will be a focus. Use of arms, legs, and various muscle groups will increase students’ strength, endurance, body awareness and overall fitness.  Students should wear comfortable clothes. Taught by Woodlin staff Physical Therapist Hope Sadler, DPT.

Karate

TUESDAY , Grades K-5                                                   Cost: $159

This class is designed for all belt levels ages 5 -11. Students learn the basic levels of martial arts while participating in a fun, exciting atmosphere. Class is tailored to student’s individual needs and helps them grow to their fullest potential possible. Karate classes not only focus on instruction, but also learning valuable lessons related to discipline, motivation, self-control, and continual improvement. Offered by Kaizen Karate.

Yoga

Our Yoga Club develops focus, flexibility, strength, and coordination through a variety of yoga poses, stories and games. We move, we play, and we sometimes dance. These classes enhance energy while also teaching children to feel calm and centered. Mats and snacks are provided each week, no need for your student to bring their own. Students should wear comfortable clothes that allow movement. Led by former Woodlin parent and RYT 200 certified yoga instructor, Krista Mason.

C3 Engineering Using Little Bits

THURSDAY, Grades K-2                                                 Cost $192

In this class, younger students are introduced to basic electronics including input and output, and logics gates, through hands-on learning and projects. Kids combine everyday supplies and color-coded modules that utilize LED lights, fans, sliders, pressure sensors, and more! Students work together in small teams in order to create different projects such as custom flashlights, touch sensors, alarm clocks, and more!
